I attach to the file a resume of the

papers, which may be found useful and which I

suggest, if approved or as amended by Eastern

Department, should be circulated to members of

the Advisory Committee for information. The

papers contain and suggest no questions that

need to be referred to the Committee. What is

being planned is generally in accordance with

suggestions that the Committee have made.

It will be useful for the Committe to have this

resume in case the general position of Hong Kong

University comes up subsequently in the light

of the China Universities Committee Report or

for any other reason.

The papers to be attached are 31 on this

file and copies of the report. From 29 I

gather that 30 copies have been received.

It will not be necessary in this connection

to include or refer to 4 and 6 on 92593. It

has been noted that these may be needed later on

for reference in connection with general

questions relating to the University, but they

add nothing which throws additional light on the
